Benz Micro Lp o Lp s ?

Al di là del costo identico e della reperibilità , si trovano entrambe nuove , perché dovrei acquistare un modello o l’altro ? 

Dagli ascolti più o meno occasionali fatti nel tempo , avrei così un po’ alla cieca optato per la versione più datata , però mi piacerebbe sentire il parere di qualcuno che con quelle testine ci ha giocato x davvero … 

Buona sera egregio. Premesso che neppure io ho provato in comparazione le due testine (però la LP suona benissimo), su Audiogon dicono così (spero ti sia utile):

"I have spoken to Garth at Musical Surroundings about the Ebony LP vs. the Ebony LP-S. And I have carefully compared the specs and physical appearance. I chose to buy the LP. With my Zeta toenarm, the LP-S just will not work correctly.

The ONLY difference is the use of brass for the structural frame, vs. aluminum. And the only significance to that is the cartridge's mass. There is some hype that brass's greater mass may provide more damping. But the really IMPORTANT thing for any potential buyer is his tonearm's recommended cartridge mass to keep resonance within the correct frequency range. The arm's effective mass, the cartridge's compliance, and the added mass of each cartridge will determine his cartridge/arm system's resonance frequency. It must stay above the record warp range and below the audible range.

Both cartridges have exactly the same design and the same compliance. The LP has the correct mass for most tonearms designed for moving coil catridges. The LP-S is too heavy for most tonearms. Buyers of the Ebony LP-S MUST do the calculations for your tonearm before you buy. The mass of an Ebony LP is within the range, for its compliance, that correctly matches most tonearms."

Ciao, da possessore di LP posso confermarTi che è una grande testina. Non ho avuto modo di fare un test comparativo diretto tra LP e LPS per cui non saprei dire esattamente quali siano le esatte differenze a parità di set-up. Ho ascoltato l'LPS in altri set-up e il sound resta di base quello della LP. Per quanto riguarda l'accoppiamento con il tuo braccio ortofon resto un po perplesso ... credo sia meglio una LP con uno Shell particolarmente leggero così da mettere nelle migliori condizioni operative in termini di FR. Per farti comprendere meglio, io avevo intenzione di prendere una LPS da montare sul mio SME IV ma sarei stato costretto a sostituire il contrappeso altrimenti mi sarei trovato con questo posizionato sostanziale al limite massimo e quindi molto più distante dal punto di fulcro, questo peraltro consigliatomi direttamente dallo stesso Lukashek nel corso di una telefonata. Per il resto quoto al 100% Edmond.

preferisco la LP, non so perchè l'abbiano appesantita.
Da tenere presente che è invertente e, a dispetto di quello che si sente in giro, si accoppia benissimo con i trasformatori, naturalmente quelli per alte impedenze.

Girovagando sui forum americani da quel che ho compreso la LPS è stata creata proprio su specifica richiesta del mercato statunitense.
