Pocket Size Conductor
The Conductor Air redefines the size and performance ratio of portable audio. It is a USB DAC/Soundcard, Headphone amplifier and Remote controlled preamp 3 in 1. It is the perfect audio player when you are on the go and at home it is the centre of your high fidelity audio system.
A really dynamic headphone amplifier
A key feature of the Conductor Air is its TPA6120A headphone amp chip. This is a reference class headphone amplifier chip typically featured in desktop audio and pro-audio applications. This chip however is avoided by conventional portable designs due to its high voltage requirement. To fully utilize this chip, we had to develop a unique voltage rising circuitry which converts the 5V DC USB power to 18V DC. This 4 folds increase in voltage supply drove the TPA6120A chip to its full potential. As a result, the Air outputs 500mW into 32 ohm and nearly 4 times the dynamic range compared to typical USB powered audio devices. The Air delivers desktop amp performance in a pocket size device.
World class digital to analogue processor
The Conductor Air features the same references class ESS9018 DAC chip as its full size sibling. The DAC chip is teamed with the all new Burson V5i Hybrid audio opamp, allowing any digital source to stream bit perfect audio with the highest level of definition and accuracy.
USB Audio
The XMOS USB interface offers the highest level of connectivity from desktop Windows based PC and Mac OSX to major mobile platforms such as Apple iOS and Androids. It can even play back audiophile quality formats such as DSD256/DXD and 32bit/384khz audio files. For Android devices which support OTG, the Air draws power from the device. For iPhone and iPad, an external 5v power bank is needed.
Quality and refinement
With 100 steps of volume control, the Air is a smooth operator as a headphone amplifier or a preamp for your home audio system. The Air enclosure and its remote control are both machined from solid blocks of high density aluminum. They are then brushed and anodized with distinctive Burson styling.
