mia domanda:
I'd like to upgrade my headphones setup moving from littledot MK8SE (that after some tube rolling sounds noticeably) to some wooaudio amp, but it's hard to choose. First of all, my cdplayer is an italian audio analogue MAESTRO SE, and my headphone is Sennheiser HD800 . My set-up works in fully balanced mode, with airtech cables, so my first question is: is it true that cd player and hd800 give their best in balanced mode? and if so, why WA5 is a single ended project? it sounds like " if you want to let WA5 sound its best, you have to let cdp and HD800 play 80%"...
That's not good!!!
on the other side, WA22 is a balanced project but...
please help

Dear Angelo,
Thank you for your interest in our products and taking the time to write us. You have a very nice CD player. Although more and more people are moving to computer audio, we still love spinning CDs in our personal systems. Which is why we developed the WTP-1 CD transport.

A fully-balanced system does yield the best performance. Our WA22 is one of a few balanced designed vacuum tubes headphone amplifiers. We love using HD800 + Nordost headphones cable with WA22. It’s one of our demo systems at trade shows.
WA5 is a single ended design because in order to do a balanced design with external power supply, the amp would be significantly larger and it would cost more. Our WA234 mono is essentially TWO WA5s in a mono configuration with added features. If you are seeking the BEST headphones system for your HD800, take a look at WA234 mono. You wouldn't believe what the Sennheiser HD800 is capable of until you hear it with WA234 mono. :)
